Send Brandon To NWBA Nationals

Hello friends and family, I hesitantly start this GoFundMe at the request of some of you who live too far to participate in the local fund raisers.
I will tell you my story, not to give you a sob story, but to show you how important wheelchair basketball is to me.
As most of you know, I was born with Spina Bifida and led a fairly normal and wonderful childhood. I was lucky enough to be surrounded by all of you and your abilities to treat me like anyone else. Thank you.
At the age of 30, I was diagnosed with Tethered Cord Syndrome. This is a complication with many Spina Bifida patients. It was to be solved fairly easily by untangling my spinal cord at the base, from scar tissue that built up from birth. This surgery did not go as planned, there were questionable techniques used by the surgeon, and this left me with little use of either of my legs. At this, I took the high road, learned to walk again with the help of leg braces and a cheery disposition.:)
Living this way gave me incredible opportunities to return to school and spend invaluable time with my family. Nothing can stop me!
Wait, In late 2015 I was shockingly diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.... This crushed me. M.S. is a disease in which the immune system eats away at the protective covering of the nerves in the brain and spinal cord and has no cure. I found myself in a pretty sad place and feared more for my wonderful wife and daughter, than myself. When this happens, one tends to neglect the need for social attention and comradery. This was NOT me!!!
In December of 2015, I was introduced to the Tucson Lobos. I will forever remember this date, as I started to become myself again. For most, sport means: hobby, getaway, exercise, etc. For me, it means.....well, everything. A distrtaction from whats to come, a stress reliever, a happier husband and father, and most of all an attempt to be arround other fine men and women that make me feel... NORMAL.
The Tucson Lobos were a late addition to the national tournament and hence, the tardy plea. The NWBA is a wonderful organization and I invite you to check out their website.
These funds are to go toward my round-trip flight to Louisville, Kentucky and a room for 5 nights.
Please do not feel obligated or sorry for my situation. I am a child of GOD and will continue my positivity and faith as life gives me obstacles. Your help will undoubtedly be appreciated and never be forgotten. Thank you!
