The Michigan Warriors Hockey Program (MWHP) is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization. Our mission is to provide Disabled Veterans the opportunity to live a healthy and active lifestyle through the sport of ice hockey. We are sanctioned and play under USA Hockey's Warrior Division.
We provide educational and developmental hockey for Disabled Veterans and our program also participates in volunteer community services. We welcome Veterans of any disability or injury (as certified by the VA) AND any skill level to join the program. We especially encourage those who have never played hockey before to come out and try.
The biggest benefit of our program is to outfit all players at no cost to the member, including ice time.
In April of 2017, USA Hockey will host the Disabled Hockeyfest in San Jose, CA. The Michigan Warriors were last season’s Runner-Up's for the Division Title.
The money will be used for sending our players to San Jose, CA - AT NO COST. We are attempting to pay for airfare, lodging, and tournament entry.
Any contribution is greatly appreciated and means that we are that much closer to getting our Veterans out to San Jose.
This program has helped save many Veterans, and allows them to understand that their disabilities are not a hindrance to everyday life. We encourage healthy and active lifestyles.
