Send Songnhi to Vietnam

Donation protected

Hey ya'll! My name is Songnhi Tran. I am a second year at UC Berkeley as an intended Public Health major. I aspire to become a bilingual OBGYN for low-income communities of color, as well as the first doctor in my family. I believe Volunteers for Medical Outreach (VMO) will take me one step closer to my future endeavors.
Volunteers for Medical Outreach is a student-run organization that fundraises and collects donations throughout the academic year to purchase medicine and medical supplies critical for the operation of mobile clinics, hepatitis B vaccination clinics, and corrective surgery programs in Vietnam. We are partnered with various programs, such as Aid for Children Without Parents (ACWP), the San Jose based Friends of Hue Foundation (FHF), and the Vietnam Tooth Project (VTP), to reach our goals. As a team member, I will be able to shadow doctors during clinical sessions, teach basic health lessons to children, and provide free medical services to under-resourced communities in Vietnam. I hope to develop transferable skills and to gain valuable insight through this experience. I am most eager, however, to grow in touch with my cultural heritage, to improve my fluency level in Vietnamese and to serve the people from my parent's hometown (Hue, Vietnam)!
Unfortunately, I am unable to cover the cost for the trip (there's so much a work studies job can do for yah, lol) and in desperate need for your support! Most of the donations will go towards travel, housing and food, while $500 is designated strictly for medical supplies. ALL donations are much appreciated! Thank you for your support! Much love <3
