Send Rocky Mountain MRA 2 PrideFest

Donation protected
After hosting a great booth at PrideFest last year, we want to do it again! We talked to a lot of people, gave out hundreds of male-positive buttons, and we more than doubled our mailing list. It was a very successful event and we look forward to doing it again this year.

We are asking for donations to help us cover the cost of the PrideFest booth rental, the required insurance, and printing of promotional material.

More and more, people are becoming aware that men and boys face serious problems today. Sadly, most advocacy continues to ignore these issues. For this reason, the members of Rocky Mountain MRA (Men's Rights Advocacy) are working to create meaningful change in the realms of men's health, men's rights, and men's happiness.

Men's issues are often swept under the rug and ignored, but in our first year we've discovered there are many other people in the Denver area who are passionate about men's issues. One of our primary goals is to provide an advocacy group to channel these people's desire to help into positive change.

One primary goal is to educate the public about the problems silently affecting our sons, brothers, and fathers:
-Boys in school are diagnosed with ADHD more than twice as often as girls , and are overmedicated with stimulant drugs to suppress normal, healthy boy behavior.
-Men are subjected to unfair treatment in family court and child custody.
-Male victims of domestic violence lack support and are often turned away from shelters.
-Baby boys are subjected to infant male circumcision, which is a medically unnecessary procedure performed on infants who cannot consent, and often has damaging effects.
-Men commit suicide nearly four times as often as women, yet suicide is rarely approached as a gendered problem. Very few resources are working to prevent male suicide, which is the second leading cause of death for males age 10-34 .
-Men don't live as long: men's life expectancy is nearly five years shorter than women's.
-Men make up nearly 80% of the unsheltered homeless population.
-In education, boys and young men have been steadily decreasing minority of college graduates for more than 30 years.
-Young men on college campuses across the country are being denied their right to a fair trial in a court of law in cases of alleged sexual assault.
-Only men are required to register for the Selective Service and face severe penalties if they fail to do so, including fines of $250,000 and/or five years in prison.
-Men make up 93% of the US prison population and receive longer sentences for the same crime.

With your support, Rocky Mountain MRA will work to help men and boys suffering in our community.
