Oklahoma is ranked 49th in educational funding and 48th in teacher pay. Our students deserve better.
Yesterday teachers from Tulsa rallied at the State Capitol alongside thousands of other educators and advocates. We are feeling energized and excited about this movement, but we recognize that there is a lot of work that needs to be done. Until our students get what they deserve, we will continue this fight. Unfortunately, our legislators are not currently making the changes needed to increase funding for our students. We need your help!!
Tomorrow, our teachers will be returning to Oklahoma City to speak with our legislators. We need your support! Unfortunately, our teachers do not have all the funds we need to get us and our students there. We are planning on caravanning from Tulsa to OKC. The trip takes us through a toll road. The toll is $4.75 each way. We also need to pay for gas for the 200 mile roundtrip. We are providing lunch and a snack to all of our students, and currently we have around 20 students going with us.
