Send Kids to Avengers: Infinity War

$1,115 of $1,500 goal

Raised by 34 people in 8 months
At Reel Outreach, our belief is that everyone deserves a night (or day) at the movies and that kids, who have no control over their circumstances, need it the most. With rising costs for tickets and concessions, for many kids the enjoyment of sitting down to enjoy a film is sadly out of reach.

We've just launched our non-profit organization and want to kick it off with an event to send kids to a screening of Avengers: Infinity War

Since we're just starting out, we'll be working locally in our area, but with enough support, we'd love to host the same event in other locations as well.

We'll be working with the local Boys and Girls Club and Mission Arlington to give kids in the area the chance to watch Marvel's blockbuster movie on the big screen.  The money raised will go towards securing a theater for the kids to use (hopefully the weekend of release or close to it), as well as concessions for them to enjoy during the movie.

All extra money raised will go towards securing more tickets for additional seats (or a larger theater to reserve), potential goodies for the kids (movie posters, etc), and making sure they have the best night at the movies.

Avengers: Infinity War will arrive in theaters on April 27th, with tickets set to go on sale later this week. As such, we're starting our fundraising campaign now in order to get the theater and seats reserved as soon as possible. This way, we won't run the risk of missing out on the film's release for the kids.

While many consider this a luxury, for kids in need it’s a chance to escape and feel normal. For those in foster care, orphanages, or group homes, the funding simply isn’t available for them to get treated to the movies. As such, even a simple $1 donation is greatly appreciated and can go towards giving these kids the opportunity for something they may not normally have.

Thanks again for taking the time to check out our fundraiser. Even if you're unable to donate today, please take a moment and share this with all your friends and family who might be able to help.

I wasn't planning on doing more then one update today, but this news is too great to hold off on sharing. Disney/Marvel, via their local PR representatives have confirmed to me that they're donating Fandango giftcards that will allow us to purchase FIFTY tickets for the kids!

That's a massive help and on, top of the donations we've already received, we'll be able to give kids in need an amazing night at the movies. It's an overwhelming show of support, and I'm still in shock at the gracious offer.

That doesn't mean we still don't need your help. The more money we raise means we can secure more seats for more kids and possibly even secondary screenings. Best of all, it means that we should be able to breath a (tiny) bit easier moving foward with future plans/goals.

As we've said from the start, our hope is to provide one major screening per month. Since launch, however, our entire focus has been on getting this ONE particular screening handled. With this generous help from Disney, we can actually begin to look ahead to our next screening, Solo: A Star Wars Story!

So keep on sharing the good word about this fundraiser, or head over to the site ( http://reeloutreach.com/donations/) to make a recurring donation to keep supporting us throughout all of our journeys. Every extra we raise not only ensures we can give as many kids in need a great night seeing Avengers, but also the lastest Star Wars movie.

We've seen some incredible support over the past 24 hours, and I can't thank you enough. Thanks for all new supporters and those who've been spreading the word.

We're still a little ways from our goal, but I may have something soon that could make getting there even easier. In the meantime, please keep sharing!
