Hi, I’m Jeff in Ga. You might know me from my playful antics on The Majority Report with Sam Seder, or The Michael Brooks Show. If you’re an individual of phenomenal taste, you might know me from the Dissident Peasant Podcast, a thing that was mostly about politics but’s now about history and socialism and stuff, sorry!
Anyway, I want to tell you a story. It was 2010, I had just dropped out of college without a degree and with thousands of dollars in debt, and was working at a dead end job. Politics was bleak, then as now, but so was my life, when I listened to Sam and the gang for the first time. It was like nothing else I had ever heard, and I looked in vain for anything even close to as good for several years. Sam Seder, Michael Brooks, Matt Binder, Kelly Carey, and later, Matt Lech and Jamie Peck and Brendan Finn- they became a part of my life. I knew I did not know them, but they were something to look forward to at a time when I was desperately short of such.
I have since gathered the courage to join in the fun, and am privileged to have my calls taken now and again to try my hand at getting some laughs, and maybe say something smart. And on February 1st, 2019, Michael Brooks, now a guy I’m proud to call friend, is putting on a show at The Bell House in Brooklyn.
I really want to go, but frankly can’t afford it myself. The goal here was calculated carefully, as I’m fearful of asking for either too much or not enough, but should be enough to comfortably cover air fare, travel to and from both Atlanta and New York, accommodations, food, and incidentals at Left Is Best Fest.
So let’s see if we can get me there. Thanks in advance.
