Camille, age 9yo, has been dancing nearly as long as she's been living. From copying her older sister's gymnastics skills and routines, to mimicking her other sisters' ballet variations, Cami is always in motion. She's spent the last 4 years attending and watching YAGP events, waiting for HER TURN to take the Semi-Finals stage. She did just that the weekend of February 14-17, 2019, in Houston, TX. And much to her delight, she placed!

*3rd place Contemporary, Pre-Competitive (9-11yo) Women
*1st place Pas De Deux (9-19yo)
To add even more excitement to her FIRST YAGP experience, she qualified and was invited to take 3 of her 4 pieces to the New York stage April 12-20, 2019! Ever since her sister, Carissa, went to Finals in 2017, it has been Camille's DREAM to dance the YAGP Finals in New York! We just never thought it would come true so quickly!
YAGP, Youth America Grand Prix, is in it's 20th Anniversary Season as a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing scholarship awards and performance opportunities to aspiring dancers. Each year an estimated 10,000 dancers compete in Semi-Final events across the US and abroad. Of these, approximately 1200 dancers are hand selected to compete in the NY Finals event, where representatives from dance academies and companies around the world award scholarships and contracts (to those age-eligible, of course).
Camille is homeschooled, and is a hard working, talented and kind 4th grader. She trains at Cibolo City Ballet in Cibolo, TX, under the direction of Danae Quevedo, and spends about 15 hours each week in class and rehearsal. When asked WHY she dances, she responds "because it makes me, and other people, happy." We would love to make Camille's dream a reality, and help her along her way to her ultimate goal--to be a professional dancer!
How can YOU can help? We would love to raise funds for airfare, hotel and other travel related expenses. Traveling to New York for 10 days is expensive! We'd also covet your prayers and encouragement--Camille will have the opportunity to meet new dance friends, study under some highly recognized and regarded instructors, and perform in front of a much larger audience than she's ever experienced.
