Falsely Accused: Selwyn Marshall

Recently, Selwyn Marshall was falsely associated with a burglary in the very Baltimore County neighborhood in which he grew up. This GoFundMe page is being set up to help pay for Selwyn’s attorney fees for his defense in the criminal case in which he has been falsely charged.
Born in Liberia, Selwyn is a young man in his twenties currently residing in Baltimore County, Maryland. At the age of 13, he and his family were forced to flee Liberia to escape civil war. After a difficult 700-mile journey to Ivory Coast, where the family again encountered civil war, they found a temporary sanctuary in a United Nations refugee camp. In September 2003, the family was able to immigrate to the U.S. and settled in the Towson area thanks to sponsorship by First and St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ. The family took residence in the church parsonage, as Selwyn’s father Sam took over the custodial duties of the church. Growing up in the Towson area, Selwyn attended Dumbarton Middle School and later Towson High school, during which time he played AAU soccer for the Baltimore Bays. He assisted his father by mowing the church lawn, and volunteered in church mission work. After graduation, he tried out dental school and engineering classes, finally obtaining a position as back-up supervisor in the formulation area of Becton-Dickinson, while he takes classes for business management.
Selwyn has survived two civil wars and a difficult refugee camp, emerging as an ambitious and kind young man with a bright future. Please support Selwyn and help us bring justice to him and his family
