2020 Boston Marathon for National MS Society

I am incredibly honored and humbled to again be running the 2020 Boston Marathon for charity -- once again for the National Multuple Sclerosis Society. This will be my fourth straight year running for the MS Society following my mother's was diagnosis with MS. I thought this would be an incredibly fitting tribute to support not only her but also to the MS Society who helps so many other people living with a similar diagnosis. MS stops people from moving, the MS Society exists to make sure it doesn't and to me there is no more fitting tribute to the need and ability to keep moving than the Boston Marathon.

My mother, clearly an inspiration to me throughout my life, has elevated that inspiration to an entirely new level following her diagnosis. While most people would be understandably upset, my mother embraced the diagnosis with inspiring positivity. Her perspective was that this was not something she caught or didn't have one day and now has it because of the diagnosis--she could now move on from diagnosis to treatment. Since then she has shared numerous stories of improvements in her balance, walking ability, her love of physical therapy and all of the other positive developments in her treatment.

I know that the act of giving to or supporting a cause is a deeply personal one and many people take many different paths to settle on the cause that most draws them in. Whether it's to honor someone fighting this disease, in honor of someone who has lost the fight or to help prevent someone from having to fight in the future, I hope you choose to support this effort. I acknowledge that this is a somewhat selfish request as I'm asking you not only to support the charity I have chosen but also to help me find my way to the starting line of the Boston Marathon, but I hope this process will be one that brings awareness to others in my network.
