Great News!!! It is final and now I can share--I am opening a gallery in Chimayo, New Mexico!! It is a hundred year old historic adobe and was a gallery for 32 years until the owner retired.  Now I get to revive it as a live, work and show studio/gallery! I am so excited I can hardly stop from jumping up and down! And thank you friends for donating and helping me out. However, I will feel better about asking for your support if I give a gift certificate to everyone in the amount of your donation.  The gift certificate will be good starting in June, since the next two months will be spent moving and opening the gallery.  You can order off of the online store, www.SpiritHorse.Gallery, or email or message me for a special order. A little bit about me. I moved to Santa Fe this past summer to continue my art career after working as a farmer for 7 years. I had been a full time artist for over 20 years, then decided I would like to try my hand at promoting good and sustainable food through farming and teaching.  It was pretty difficult and expensive, and I ran out of money and energy.  It broke my heart but I donated my dairy goats to a non-profit and returned to my other love, being an artist.
The Santa Fe area is the place to restart my art career, and so far I have made it through my first winter.  When I decided to move to Santa Fe last summer, all the shows had juried in except for one, which I did—generating almost $6000 in sales from the show. There isn’t the art market in Santa Fe in the winter like there is in the summer, and I’ve gotten by this winter by doing workshops, some computer work, some art sales and selling my truck. I sat down and really looked at how I could have a successful art season in 2019 and came up with a plan and a new gallery which needs some seed money.


There are many good shows and all of them need me to pay the show fees before the season starts! Yikes! I am doing the Gathering of Nations, the world's biggest powwow, and the great art shows in downtown Santa Fe. I could really use your help getting the show fees paid, and buying the materials, paint, leather, lacing, rawhide and beads to create the artwork I need to do these great shows! Time is of the essence since some need booth fees now and most before April.  with this jump start I can kick my art career into high gear.  And I am starting to move over to the new gallery in Chimayo, what a great space to work and share my art!! I have sooo many paintings I want to do, and getting back on my feet financially will open me up to painting them and sharing with the world!
