Second Career Retraining - PSW Course

For the past 16 years, I have been living and teaching English in Taiwan.  Due to the fact that I have been out of Canada for so long, and not having been back for 365 continuous days, funding from OSAP nor a bank loan are options for me now.  I enjoy teaching, and I also truly enjoy the feeling I get by helping people.  Whether helping a child learn English, giving bus fare to the less  fortunate to take a warm bus ride than walk, our helping a neighbor with their housework.  I would l ike to take this course beginning March 4 at Westervelt College in London, ON.  During the study period (8 months), my goal is to not only study, but do some volunteer work in the forest city.  Finally, the goal requested will cover the costs of my course, study materials, and housing during the course.


PS: I've adjusted the goal amount. I found that the exact same course that Westervelt College offers for $7,625, Wheable Adult Learning Centre offers it for around $1800. This course begins in August, and is a six-month course.

AND, as another incentive (more for me, but I'm sure some friends will appreciate this), as this is a PSW course, I've made myself a (somewhat) late New Year's Resolution. If I'm able to raise this money, I WILL STOP SMOKING.

If my goal is to help others, then smelling like a cigarette factory is not good. And, we all know the medical and financial benefits of stopping smoking. Again, the amount will cover rent and the PSW course.
