AIMR is a not-for-profit Australian registered charity.
With your help we plan to build the first Sea Sanctuary in Australia and in the world. Dolphin Marine Magic is no longer a suitable and acceptable place to keep dolphins and we need a natural alternative for the captive dolphins in Australia.
We acknowledge and understand that some captive dolphins are not suitable candidates for release. AIMR believes that a Sea Sanctuary will be a more natural and therefore a better alternative to live out their lives, compared to the small concrete pools they are currently in. The quicker we reach our goal, the quicker we can get Dolphin Marine Magic shut down.
Our charity organization is proud to have Dr Verné Dove a world leading dolphin veterinarian, leading the charge to make this visualisation a reality. In December 2014 Dr Dove won the very prestigious Recent Alumnus Achievement Award from Melbourne University. She is an outstanding Veterinarian and has dedicated her career to protecting wild Dolphins.
Dr Dove and AIMR have one philosophy, that Dolphins do not deserve a life of captivity, and that its time to change this forever.
Dolphin Marine Magic has bred 3 dolphins into a life of captivity in the past 10 years. This is unethical. We are here to change the future for all marine parks, and show how this can happen. Help us make history. We will build the 1st Sea sanctuary in the world and retire the captive dolphins, and we will build a purpose built marine hospital in Australia, dedicated to rescue, rehabilitation and re-release of all marine animals.
