Seann Ordonez' Battle With Cancer

Donation protected

Seann, a 14-year old fun-loving, intelligent, energetic, bubbly and optimistic boy from Naga City, Philippines; son of Boboy and Leah, younger brother to Giann is fighting for his life for the third time against the Big C.  His battle started when he was just 2 yrs old.  His first diagnosis was ALL (acute Lymphocytic Leukemia.  He finished the whole course of chemo from aug 2005-nov.2009.  From 2009-2013, Seann was cancer free but had to travel to manila for monthly check ups, vaccines and scheduled BMA.  Everything was okay with Seann for 3 1/2 years.  Seann lived a normal life during these years from going to a regular school (consistent honor student) to learning sports and attending art classes.  His parents and family could not ask for more, seeing Seann fully recovered and so happy is already a contentment for their family.  Then came March 2013, a few days before Seann's recognition day, his parents observed and felt that there was something wrong with Seann.  He was not his usual self.  He was pale and weak so his parents decided to bring him to his peditrician at Naga city.  He was confined at Mother Seton Hospital for 3 days for observation and hydration because Seann tested positive on the dengue test, but because of his medical history his parents decided to bring him to his hematologist in Manila.  Before going to Manila, Seann requested from his parents that he'd attend his school's recognition day first because he want to claim his certificate, he was included in the list of honor students again.  So wish granted for Seann but sad to say this was his last time at their school's stage.

In April 2013, Seann had a relapse. Seann's diagnosis this time was ALL (in RELAPSE).  After series of tests, Seann started chemo again.  This was so painful for his parents and for their famiy.  Never in their wildest dream did they think that the cancer would reoccur. This was Seann's second battle with the big C.  Things were different this time, Seann's parents and grandparents who have been supporting seann's medical expenses since his first diagnosis are finanically drained already.  They've already exhausted their funds, his parents are in debt.  Due to finanical difficulties , Seann was transferred to charity ward after his portacath insertion.  During this time, his parents was able to support Seann's chemotherapy  by the help of their families, relatives, friends, local officials, and PCSO.
Seann started chemo wth the second protocol from april 2013 until January 2016.

On January 2016, Seann and his family were advised by his hematologist that he'll be finishing his chemo soon, only one BMA left and then Seann will have to undergo post tests.  Seann was so happy, his battle would soon be over, but who would have thought this happiness would soon be challenged.  A day after the good news, Seann was confined at the UERMMC pedia charity ward for test and series of Double Intrathical chemo.  He eved had depression and was on daily check up by a psychiatrist.  This time his hematologist is considering a possible relapse again.  After series of procedures it was confirmed, Seann had a second relapse.  This time his diagnosis is ALL (Isolated CNS in relapse).  Seann started his protocol last February 2016. He had his radiation chemotherapy last February 2016. Seann's chemo now is more intense and aggressive.  He still travels back and forth to Manila together with his mom, for his weekly schedule of chemo.  Seann is doing well, although the effect of chemotherapy is quite adverse, Seann never loses his fighting spirit.  He has been in battle for 12 years.  For 12 years his medical treatment is always a major concern his parents.

Seann has a long way to go, with the guidance of the Lord, support and love from his parents, brother, relatives and good friends he'll be able to fight this battle stronger.

Seann would always tell his mom that his battle seems forever already, but his parents would always tell Seann that cancer is not your life, this is only a chapter of your life - this assurance is what Seann would always want to hear.

His mother Leah  wrote "Seann is truly a blessing and an inspiration for all of us. In spite of all the pains you've been through in fighting the BIG C, you have always look at life positively! You have lived each day full of SOMEDAY instead of WHAT IF! You always cheer us up although we are... all hurting inside. You always amaze us with your positivity and optimism."

Their family is in need of financial help for Seann's chemotherapy, including his travel expenses for his scheduled treatment at UERMMC.  Any monetary help is very much appreciated. Thank you very much!  God Bless!
