I haven’t given any updates because I’ve been overwhelmed as hell! First let me say the PET scan only showed cancer in one area which is good news!! The area that is involved is called the pleural. The Doctor said it’s a nice size mass . It’s the area around the lung. Unfortunately his first chemo/radiation regimen couldn’t fully tackle this beast . So this is not a relapse, it never fully went away. I know many of you will ask questions I don’t have answers for. The Doctors don’t have all the answers. Feel free to research, Lord know I have and will continue to. Just please don’t flood our inboxes with “cures”. We have a wonderful Oncologist that specializes in this type of childhood cancer. Spencer’s pediatrician also happens to be an oncologist. They do communicate with St. Jude’s etc. He will get his port put back in on Friday and chemo will start the following Tuesday. This will be an entirely different chemo regimen than the first time around. They are also going to do a biopsy of the mass to see if it has gene characteristics. If it does he will get an additional medication to try to help. Proton radiation will will be done at some point. Thank you all for the prayers, love and support!
