SCOTUS Theater LA

Donation protected

SCOTUS Theater is raising funds for our first Los Angeles reading, produced in partnership with East West Players.  We will present Jennings v. Rodriguez, a 2017 Supreme Court case that challenged the prolonged detention of migrants.

Stakes are high now in debates on immigration policy and in the future of the Supreme Court. SCOTUS Theater is here to offer understanding and hope not found in internet searches, podcasts, or repeated calls to Senator Feinstein's office. This evening is a chance to come together: to pause and reflect, learn, and connect in community.

Directed by Becca Wolff, the reading will be performed by lawyers and professional actors. The reading will be followed by an expert panel featuring Ahilan Arulanantham, senior counsel at the ACLU of Southern California, who argued Jennings v. Rodriguez on behalf of the respondents. The panel will delve into issues raised by the case: our moral and legal obligations to migrants in detention, and the current legal and political landscape.

SCOTUS Theater is committed to fair pay for our artists and technicians, and your support makes this possible. All proceeds will benefit the ACLU of Southern California. Thank you for your support!
