Scott VandeWalle

On March 20th, 2018, our family’s lives were forever changed when my brother, Scott was diagnosed with Cancer.  The original prognosis was okay, and we knew we were in for an uphill battle, however, after further testing and imaging we soon learned that our worst nightmare was now a reality.  Scott’s cancer was much much worse than what we originally thought.  He has since been diagnosed with Stage 4 Non small cell metastatic lung cancer and the cancer has spread to his bones and lymph nodes.  Further imaging also has shown small traces of cancer in other areas.  This journey and past month has been incredibly difficult on all of us, but most importantly on Scott and his loving family, especially his two beautiful daughters, Lillian (13) and Reese (9).  Scott’s wife Rebecca (Becky) has been a trooper while balancing Scott’s needs with that of his two young daughters. 

While our lives are forever changed with this terrible news, we are committed to supporting Scott spiritually, mentally, and financially in any way we can.  Our family would like to thank the out pouring of love and concern that everyone has shown.  Scott is super grateful.  I have started this page for people to reach out and support him and his family in any way they can and also to keep everyone informed of Scott’s current condition.  My brother is truly one of a kind and my best friend and I will dedicate the rest of my life to helping him and his family in any way I can.  I also started this page so people can offer financial assistance with the crazy amount of medical bills, as well as an outlet for friends and family to offer words of encouragement as Scott starts the fight of his life against this terrible disease.
