Scott Turners Road to Recovery Fund

£6,440 of £10,000 goal

Raised by 261 people in 5 months

On Sunday 17th September 2017 , Scott Turner had a horrific accident at he home, he was climbing and slipped falling 12ft completely severing his right foot from his leg.  He was treated at the scene where they manually attached his foot back to his leg and held this in place by a splint.  I have included the pictures Vickie has agreed to they are very graphic just to warn everyone. He was then transferred to The John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford. He underwent hours of surgery on Sunday to re-attach the foot and pin the bones in place.
He has done irrepairable damage to his skin which they are hopeful will heal over time.  On Wednesday he will undergo over ten hours of surgery to fuse the bones with metal plates, screws and pins from the foot and ankle to the leg.  He will also undergo a muscle transplant from his thigh to his foot to aid blood flow through out. They will then in same surgery carry out a skin graft on top of his ankle and plastic surgery to fill the current holes in his ankle and foot, this will take all day and involve multiple highly skilled surgeons.
John Radcliffe have been amazing throughout.
Scott and his amazing mum Vickie have a a very long road to recovery and as their friends we wanted to do something to help them Lilly, Bonnie & Xavier so we thought we would set up this page.
Driving to and from the hospital and parking alone is going to be £30-£40 a day, and this could be for weeks, months even.  Then once Scott is home there will intensive daily physio needed so Vickie will still be unable to go back to work.  Vickie is a single mum to four and she works tirelessly for charity so this our chance to give something back to her and show her just how much we all care about her and the kids.

thanks for reading any donations gratefully recieved

So as you all know Scott has been very very ill with Sepsis.
He is now having an operation today to remove pins early from his ankle and also have his infection looked at cleaned and a layer of skin removed which means starting all over again from the donor site!
This is all in an effort to get the sepsis more under control and eventually out of his system which will take at least another week.
He has sadly been bed ridden for over a week now and so will have to start all of his physio etc from scratch when he is up to it.
As you can imagine the pain has been unbearable BUT is now under control....with the help of an Oxycodine pca iv.
He has been on fluids and lots of antibiotics to help bring the sepsis down and he is making steps in the right direction...
Fingers crossed that this continues and is all helped by today's operation.
I want to thank you all for all the love and messages and for all my friends who have been simply amazing helping with kids and food etc... none of us ever imagined this could happen after how well he was doing and being up and about in a wheelchair...
Please keep positive vibes and

Good morning, I wish this update was better than it is on the day we were hoping Scott would be discharged, Scott has been diagnosed with Sepsis and has been very poorly over the weekend, it been heartbreaking for everyone. Yesterday his heart rate came down a little and infection counters are coming down very slowly. Scott has endured so much pain and this is causing severe sickness. Today Scott will endure further surgery to try and prevent further infections and he will also be having xrays and dressing changes all to try and prevent further infections. Last night Vickie said Scott was finally after five long days comfortable and managed to eat a little for the first time. Please can we carry on sharing and donating costs are mounting up already with the other three children being in after school clubs each day and next week we have half term so kids will need to be in clubs, please continue to pray for Scott and the rest of the family they have a long road ahead
thanks
Nikki
