On 5/19, we lost a dear member of our lab family. Dr. Scott Smemo was a brilliant scientist whose humility and warmth were as great as his intellect. His wit always left us laughing, and his sincere personality made him a trusted friend and confidant to everyone he met. He held our admiration, our respect, and our love.
We are devastated by his unexpected passing, and are still processing the news. However, our thoughts turn now to his family. We are starting this gofundme to raise money for his funeral expenses and other costs in the hopes that doing so will lessen some of the burden on his family.
