Scott Fellini

Donation protected
Scott Fellini, father to  twins Ilaria & Matt (GRHS Class of 2018), has long been involved with the youth of Glen Rock. Currently he is a Head Coach for the Glen Rock Junior Football Association as well as being Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop15. Prior to moving to Glen Rock, he was involved with the Lyndhurst Junior Football Association for many years.

Scott grew up in Lyndhurst (LHS Class of 80 ). I grew up in Lyndhurst as well. While I knew of him growing up, I did not really get to know him until after I became GRJFA President in 2016.  Very early into my tenure, Scott & I were going to meet GRHS Coach Kurz at the field after one of his practices. The thing that to this day I remember about the meeting was the interactions Scott had with the High School players. As we were walking out to the field the players were walking off.  At least a dozen of them came up to him and either gave him a hug or stopped to talk to him.  The interactions showed me the kids had a positive experience playing for him.  That year ended with his Junior Team losing a tough semi-final matchup in the playoffs that prevented them from reaching the Super Bowl. A few days after the game, I received an email from one of the referees involved in the game. The ref is also very involved in the referee association and is in charge of assigning refs to games throughout the state. He sent the email because he wanted to let me know how impressed he was with how Scott and his team because of how they handled themselves with dignity and class throughout the game and after a tough loss.  I think both stories show the positive impact Scott has on children and I am glad he is one of our coaches.

For those unaware, Scott suffered a stroke in late February. He was hospitalized and then transferred to a rehabilitation facility for a few weeks but is now home and on the road to recovery. Unfortunately, he is not sure when he will be able to return to work as he continues his rehab at home and will have trouble covering his expenses. The reason I setup this gofundme account was that it was a way to give back to someone who has given plenty to others. All contributions will go directly to Scott and his family.

For those wondering, Scott plans on being on the sidelines this year and getting his HAM squad ready to make a run at a SuperBowl.

Thank you for taking the time to read  and if you can  please share the link to help spread the word. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated.
