As most are now aware, my husband Danny was shot point blank in the throat while protecting our family during a home invasion in the Cove of Panama City on April 4, 2019.
Our beautiful daughter Lexie was killed as a result. She was only 19.
Two other members of our family were also shot, and are now in recovery.
Danny is still hospitalized, has undergone numerous life saving surgical procedures,many trips back and forth to Shands in Gainsville, and has a hard recovery ahead.
Danny is currently receiving rehabilitative care and working hard at least 5 hours per day at multiple therapies,
Unfortunately, we have now been notified that his job will be ending. As his job ends, so does his medical insurance. This poses a giant issue as he still has at least 2 needed surgeries ahead for shrapnel and repair of his esophagus and rehab to regain use of his right arm. We are now scrambling for options.
Our family appreciates all of the love and support that everyone in the community has shown us in this difficult and trying time. we pray that you will continue to share this and help us down this long and heartbreaking road. With all our love we thank you.
This campaign was originally started by coworkers of Jenna Scoggins, and all profits are going toward mounting costs incurred due to the loss of her daughter Lexie, and what will be ongoing and extensive medical expenses for her husband, Danny.
Funds will continue to be withdrawn from GoFundMe by one of the creators of the fund, Jenna's manager Judi, and provided to Jenna Scoggins for The Scoggins Family, via cashiers checks.
