Who are we? We are the Northwest’s premier pageantry arts organization, the Seattle Cascades Drum and Bugle Corps. In 2017 the corps will travel over 10,000 throughout the US and perform in many of our nation's most iconic venues.
What do we do? We are a privately funded 501(c)(3) organization that provides opportunities for 150 young men and women ages 15-21 to develop leadership skills, express our creative powers, enhance life skills to become productive, outstanding members of society, learn what it means to achieve excellence, provide an outlet to perform artistically at the highest level possible and travel the country while performing before thousands of appreciative fans. In short, we are among the greatest youth arts organizations in the world.
What is the drum corps experience? Having just celebrated our 50th anniversary, our high school and college-age performers begin rehearsing for the new season in November, attend monthly camps throughout the winter months, begin spring training in June to perfect the specially arranged music and field production and then in July embark on a 16-state, 21-show tour throughout the country. Often rehearsing and performing for several hours every day in 90-degree heat, we work to perfect our competitive production which culminates at the World Championships at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.in August. The performances are mentallly taxing, artistic, and athletic and Cascades members love it!
Why does each of us listed on this page need you now? It costs the Cascades organization nearly $700,000 to field a competitive drum and bugle corps each year. Each member pays over $3000 in tuition plus other expenses to belong to the Pacific Northwest’s premier performing arts organization. Many members come from other states and even internationally to perform with us. This means that individuals must fly to Seattle for monthly camps and forego jobs to earn college tuition and other life necessities. You can make an individual’s dream a reality and give to one or more of these deserving young people. We will acknowledge your generosity with a thank-you letter and every dollar donated will go to the selected individual’s tuition and tour expenses.
