Scholarship Fund in Memory of Maya

On June 18, 2018 heaven gained a beautiful angel. Maya was truly a free spirit that embodied all senses of the word. She lived a life full of adventure--traveling and living in more countries than most of us have even thought of visiting. Maya had a huge heart and an even bigger smile on her face whenever she looked your way. She truly made the world a better place, and for that, she will be remembered as a world traveler, loving friend, and loyal teammate.
Soccer was a huge part of Maya's life growing up. From playing for Team Boca Soccer Club for nearly 10 years to winning multiple state soccer championships at both the club and high school level, Maya's passion for soccer was never questioned. When the rest of us were ready to give up, Maya was always the one motivating us to work harder and keep going. It is because of this passion and dedication to soccer, that we'd like to create a scholarship fund in memory of Maya that will go directly to Team Boca Soccer Club. All donations will be placed in a travel fund for players who need financial assistance to participate on the Team Boca travel program, especially for expenses associated with travel to tournaments and showcase events. This will allow families to better afford the costs associated with airfare, hotels, and food while participating in tournaments all across the country. Team Boca is not just a soccer club for developing soccer skills and earning college scholarships, but a place where girls learn valuable life lessons and create friendships that last forever.
Maya constantly gave with all of her heart, and while her physical presence may no longer be with us, her spirit and love of soccer will live on. Rest easy, beautiful friend. You will be missed, and never forgotten <3
