Scholarship for Student Travel

I'm a high school English and Drama teacher, and I love school, but I will be completely honest with you: the most educational experiences of my life have come from my travels around the world. It's only natural, then, that I should want to take my students on a few globe-trotting adventures.
Since 2010 I've traveled abroad with students across most of Europe, Costa Rica and China on six different trips, four of which I planned. This coming year, in the spring of 2018, I'll be leading a trip to Ireland, Wales and England, and because this trip is so easy for me to align with my curriculum, I've planned a year's worth of reading and writing that will prepare the students for the experience.
That said, not every student in my class can go, but I want as many to attend as possible, which is why I would like to establish a scholarship.
It is a real privilege for me and my partners in teacher-student travel to be able to take students around the globe, and an even bigger thrill for the students themselves. On their behalf, thank you for helping them see the world at a young age. It's an experience that will shape their lives for all their years to come.
UPDATE - MARCH 2018: Since this campaign was initially posted, we've raised all but a few hundred dollars (both on-line and off-), and we're making a push for the last few hundred dollars. We've identified a student who has stood out in class as an enthusiastic scholar and an excellent writer, not to mention being a real go-getter: she raised quite a bit of money on her own before we even announced there would be a scholarship. We want to raise the remaining balance, the last $500, and hope you'll consider giving.
For all those who have donated, we'll be sure to share with you pictures of our scholarship recipient absorbing all the history and beauty of Ireland and the UK on a trip that you helped make possible.
