The Seneca Anti-Wind Union's Mission is to educate our local citizens and elected officials regarding the proposed industrial wind turbine projects that are being considered in Seneca County. Without a doubt these projects will bring the PILOT (Payment In Lieu Of Taxes) payments to our county but at what cost? Since the beginning our goal has been to make sure that the public understands all of the negative effects that these projects will have on our communities, neighborhoods, friends, and families. This is imperative as these projects will change our area FOREVER!!
To do this we have organized many community outreach events and meetings, started a Facebook page (link below), handed out thousands of yard signs, created a email based newsletter called "The Windbreaker", handed-out pamphlets and other forms of information, and we are constantly looking at additional ways to be active in the community.
SAWU has always been and will continue to be a local grassroots action group made up of local citizens that promote our core mission.
Up until this point, we have been completely funded through the generosity of local citizen’s donations. We have now reached a point where we feel that we need to generate additional funding to support our efforts.
