Saving Siennas Broken Heart
Meet my 6 year old daughter Sienna Belle. Sienna was born with complex congenital heart disease on 13 October 2010. At 12 days old Sienna had surgery where a PA Band was inserted and a Co-Art Repair was carried out. On christmas eve that same year, the peadiatric cardiologist team told me to take my baby home and love her.... Yesterday, we were told more surgery is required and her condition has been upgraded to a category 2. Unfortunately, the procedure required has never been done in the world before and offers no guarantees. However, without it, Siennas days are limited, so surgery is vital. Should the first surgery be successful, 3 more will need to take place within the next 2 years. Risk of infection are extremely high and lengthy hospital stays are necessary. Sienna is an intelligent, happy, loving, thoughtful and strong little girl who lights up our days with her smile, despite the fact she is getting bluer, getting puffed with minimal exercise and getting pins & needles in her arms and legs more regularly. Sienna Belle deserves to live, but we need your help please. Living away from home whilst in hospital is costly, especially as I am a single mum surviving on a Carers Payment & also raising/supporting my son Declan, who is currently in year 12 & about to graduate in November. Money raised will help with parking, accommodation, medication & food as our home still needs to keep functioning & the bills paid, whilst my daughter and I are in Brisbane. Unfortunately, Sienna is not an eligible transplant candidate, so this surgery is our only hope. We thankyou from the bottom of our hearts for your support and love during this difficult and uncertain time xo
