Saving Little Tabby

Donation protected
Hello kind hearted family & friends. I am Arnold Garzon, a public school teacher at Lucy Rede Franco Middle School in a small town of Presidio Texas. Aviana, AKA little "Tabby" is my niece's daughter from the Philippines. Little Tabby was diagnosed to have "Chronic Liver Disease secondary to Neonatal Hepatitis". With her condition, an immediate "liver transplant" was advised. We have thought that through "gofundme" we can reach out to your homes and ask to help us raise fund to save a life.
Below is my niece Michelle story, please read. Thank you very much!

Most women desire to have a child and having a daughter is a dream come true considering my doctors told me that I can’t conceive. With prayers, I received the most precious gift from Almighty God: My Miracle Baby. After a difficult pregnancy, AVIANA JAMILA TUPAZ CORTEZA was born via C-section on January 12, 2017, at 33 weeks. She weighed 3.3lbs., and was 40cm long. I fondly call my baby, “Little Tabby”.

Pure bliss is how I felt the first time I held Little Tabby in my arms. With her presence, our home has become brighter. She is the source of my parents’ happiness and mine. She is everything any mother could ask for.

All these feelings came crashing down when Little Tabby turned 6 months. Last July 11, 2017 we brought her for a check up with a Gastroenterologist. Her initial findings show my daughter has jaundice, acholic stools and underweight for her age. Her laboratory tests are abnormal. When I was called for a reading of her laboratory results, I was told that my Little Tabby needs an immediate liver transplant or else she will not reach her first birthday. Hearing those words simply shattered my heart. I was not prepared for the worst. It was the most painful and saddest day of my life!

I carried Little Tabby in my womb for 33 weeks until Eclampsia hit me hard. My Blood Pressure shot up to 220/140 and I went temporarily blind. My recovery in the ICU took 4 days, only to find out 6 months later that my daughters’ liver has been damaged. I want to see my Little Tabby grow...to hear her talk. I’m waiting for the moment that I will teach her how to paint and show her my world. I want to send her to school...see her excel, graduate and become a successful professional. I want to experience being a proud Mommy. I want to meet her first love and be there for her when she succeeds and fails. I want to give her the tightest hugs and the sweetest kisses. These are my dreams and these blurred all at once on that fateful day last July.

August 12, 2017, was when my Little Tabby had her liver biopsy. The result showed her liver has Portal Fibrosis with Cholestasis. We gave her medications for a month until her check-up last September 25, 2017. Her Pedia-Gastroenterologist’ final diagnosis is Chronic Liver Disease secondary to Neonatal Hepatitis. She advised me to bring my baby to Manila for further consultation and to prepare her for a liver transplant.

The liver transplant operation will be held in Kaohsiung General Hospital in Taiwan as this said surgical procedure is only performed on adults here in the Philippines. Moreover, such surgery may cost up to 5 million Philippine Pesos or more. As of this writing, my Family and Friends are looking for persons with a kind heart and Institutions with humanitarian programs for financial aid to raise this amount so My Miracle Baby may live.

My name is Michelle Ma Belle Garzon Tupaz-Corteza, 38 years old, a resident of Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, Philippines, a government employee, and the Mother of Aviana Jamila. I hate to say this but I AM SO SCARED. Scared for my Little Tabby, her situation, and for what may happen. My heart bleeds every time I think of her or when I am with her. Please help me save My Baby. I am appealing to your kind heart to fund my Little Tabby’s liver transplant.

Thank you for reading my story and for sharing a part of yourself.

God Bless You!

Forever grateful,
Mommy Michelle
