Saving A Life Helping A Nurse

Donation protected
Deb Van Atta Kieffer was a nurse for close to 50 years in Northwest Ohio who has been recently diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis.  The Lung Health Institute describes pulmonary fibrosis as "a chronic lung disease that causes the inflammation and scarring of lung tissue. This disease causes the air sacs (alveoli) to grow stiff. Your air sacs are responsible for exchanging oxygen and carbon dioxide. When they are damaged, the ability of your lungs to take in oxygen becomes inhibited."(https://www.thelunghealthinstitute.com/pulmonary-fibrosis)  Her doctors have said that only treatment covered by insurance would be a lung transplant, but her age and condition might not guarantee that opportunity.  However, the Lung Health Institute has a successful application of revolutionary minimally invasive stem cell therapy that will help regenerate her lung capacity and is an alternative to the lung transplant procedure. Their stem cell therapy deploys stem cell transplants utilizing autologous stem cells, natural growth factors, and platelet-rich plasma to promote the repair and regeneration of damaged lung tissue.  This therapy has had an 85% success rate. The stem cell therapy cost $11,000, and is not covered by insurance.  She needs the funds as soon as possible to begin the treatment.

Mrs. Kieffer has helped bring thousands of babies into this world during her nursing career, has watched many of us grow to become adults, helped heal many lives physically and spiritually, and has always tried help her neighbor.  After all she has done to help others live a full life, these funds will help her get the treatment to enable her to live a full life where she can be involved in the lives of not only her children, her grandchildren, and the many lives she continues to touch.

The situation is urgent.  The earlier the treatments can begin, the better.  It's harder for anyone of us to fight an illness as we age, and that's what she is facing.  Presently she is on oxygen.  The facility to treat her is only a couple of hours away in Pittsburgh, PA.  She can begin the treatment and begin showing improvement in as  little as 3 months.
