Village Center for the Arts Supporters:

VCA IS NOT CLOSING, NOW OR ANY TIME IN THE NEAR FUTURE...

We have provided for 16 years:
-Life changing art programming for children of all ages and adults, including Paint The People!

-access to high quality art instruction for hundreds of  local families and children in need; every year, through our scholarship and other programs.

We work
-with the public school counselors  to open to the doors to students who will benefit through completely free healing and expression through the arts.

We've created The Unexpected Artist:
Funded by Union Savings Bank
-a COMPLETELY FREE, art-related homework assistance program!  We work from the school teachers' rubric to provide appropriate supplies, quality instruction and full assistance at VCA, so students can complete their assignments on their own with great success.  Hundreds of students have already benefitted from this program this school year!  This is for NON-ART SUBJECTS such as...science, social studies, foreign languages, etc...

We have, for 3 years
-offered a TOTALLY FREE Family Art program  where-in families who are living paycheck to paycheck, even if they are middle income, can enjoy creating sculpture together as a family...FOR FREE...NO STRINGS ATTACHED!

We have, for 10 years
-offered scholarship assistance to any child who would like art in their life, both after-school by school bus, on weekends and during the summer, to any family who needs assistance; even middle class families who are living paycheck to paycheck.

We run
-an extremely successful volunteer program that gives our young people the skills to needed to  become successful adults.  Our adult volunteers find happiness and satifaction in "paying it forward" with their philanthrophy.

SO:

Our building is for sale, NOT the art center!

We have used ART as a way to teach and care for your children. But now, VCA faces a cross-road... a decision point.

We must decide whether to:

Buy the building
Hope another buyer allows us to remain, or...
Find a new location

Regardless, one thing is certain: VCA needs funds to cover the costs associated with evaluating the purchase of the property (appraisal, legal fees, down-payment and repairs) or... potential moving costs, and funds to help repair the/a building when we buy , OR to pay a large monthly rental if someone else buys the building and allows us to stay.

Any case, we're NOT CLOSING!  But we need help to move to the next chapter in our story...

So we’ve launched this, "MY_VCA" campaign. If you believe in the importance of ensuring this one-of-a-kind art center remains in the HEART of your community, then please help!

Here's how…

* M – MAKE a donation!

* Y – YELL to your community with social media, by phone or word of mouth

* V – VOLUNTEER – especially this Dec 10 & 11th we need many

* C – COME to our Events: IPA Tasting & Dinner (Jan. 28); our classes and workshops, (you get a piece of art, too!), Paint The People, etc...
