Save this Barn!

Donation protected

Hi!  My name is Lyndsey.  I have really debated on making a GoFundMe page for this project...but in the end, I go back to this philosophy, you don't know until you ask.

So, I'm asking.

I recently purchased a historic home in Wayne County, Ohio.  The house was built in 1858 and has quite the history from what I have found so far!  Part of the lure of this property was the AMAZING original barn, which was built in 1857.  The house and barn were both used as a stagecoach stop where patrons and guests could rest and horses could be stabled before the next leg of the journey.

Now, as my dad says, "It's a little airy." Yes, yes...it is.

I want to save it.  I have BIG long term plans for this property becoming a place for people to share, enjoy and be creative.  The long term goal is going to be for the barn to become a all-year facility for people in the community to come share, enjoy and create art.  Let's be honest, we need more face-to-face time in this digital world we live in.

So, the first step is keeping the barn from deteriorating any further than it currently is.  The primary way to stop any more damage (and the one corner is struggling) is to get a new roof on it to stop the water damage to the structural beams.  Well, that's where I'm asking for help.

Would you be willing to help me save this amazing barn?

These barns are such an extraordinary piece of American history, they need to be saved...at least in my opinion!! The money raised would be used to put a new roof on the barn and repair the structural damage that has already occurred from the elements of Northeast Ohio.  This would buy me the time needed to work on the rest of the plans to make the barn a viable space for people to enjoy.  But right now, I'm fighting a battle against mother nature and I'm slightly worried she might win!

The name of this project is Legacy Studio.  I believe we all can make our legacies, each and every day.  I believe it is our job to pass these historic properties from generation to generation.  We are the caretakers of our ancestors hard work and determination.

It took a community of hardworking people to come together to build this barn, and we can have a barn SAVING instead of a barn RAISING!

Please consider helping save this structure.  You have no idea how much any donation would mean to me.  I know you're out there...those lovers of the old barns...the smell of them, the space, the nooks and crannies, the majesty of them.  Thank you in advance for just reading this incredibly long ramble.  Have a fabulous day...and remember, what is the legacy you're creating?
