Help Save the Great Danes!

Southwest Great Dane Rescue (SWGDR) needs your help so they can continue to save Great Danes and find them their fur-ever homes! For the past 20 years SWGDR has been helping abandoned, abused and or neglected Great Danes find their forever families. Recently the rescue almost had to shut their doors due to heavy medical expenses from the Danes taken into the rescue during 2016. Luckily, due to a new Board of Directors, SWGDR now has another chance to revive and succeed. Currently, this organization is reopening its doors with no donations or reserves. They need your help to continue saving these wonderful dogs!

Great Danes are a popular breed no doubt. However as they start to grow, which happens quickly, many families realize that, due to their size and the amount of food they consume, they cannot keep their furry friend and have to surrender them to a rescue, or worse, they stop feeding them altogether. Sometimes, these dogs are put on Craigslist and other online sites for public sale, and unfortunately, sometimes bad people will get a hold of these Danes and it can be tragic. 

In efforts of keeping this rescue going SWGDR needs your help! This organization is currently reestablishing itself with zero dollars; and when it comes to rescuing Danes, the cost can be great (as you can imagine). Their goal is to raise $5,000 within the next 60 days and help the Danes that need rescuing here in South Florida become healthy and find fur-ever homes! Please help us keep this rescue alive, these dogs need your help!

Danes’ vet bills can at times be tremendous. 100% of the donations raised on this page will go directly to the Big Dog Pack of SWGDR. Your donations will help with the following:

·         Spay/neuter

·         Veterinary bills for surgery/treatment of sick Danes

·         Food

·         Rabies vaccinations

·         Bordetella vaccinations

·         DHHP vaccinations

·         Fecal testing and de-worming

·         Flea, tick and heartworm prevention

·         Microchip

·         Training, behavioral and rehabilitation costs for dogs in need

·         Other supplies and materials such as crates, blankets, collars and leashes

SWGDR wants to save as many Danes as possible. Their ultimate goal is to expand and rescue additional giant breeds across the southeastern United States – but they must start somewhere!
