My name is Ivan Gonzalez Lesama, and I am the oldest son of Silvia Lesama-Santos.
My mom Silvia is in critical need of a liver transplant, it is her only chance at survival. On February 5th, our family received a letter from OHSU that denied her a liver transplant because she is undocumented. They won’t even let her get on the waiting list while we look for another hospital who will help her.
My mom is 46 years old, and has lived in the Portland area for 30 years. She's dedicated her life to raising me and my three other siblings here in the Portland area. My siblings are young, they are ages four, thirteen, and fifteen, with me being the oldest at 21. We don't know what we'd do without her.
While my family continues to fight for her life and health as she remains hospitalized, we are asking our community for support with medical expenses.
