Donation for new mothers in Nepal

A woman cries in a rural village of Nepal because she cannot keep her child warm and save his/her life. A child is orphaned because a mother could not survive harsh winters post birth. We have come up with ‘Donation for new mothers’ because If we do not act soon mother and child mortality rate would be the story of every other house in the earthquake affected areas of Nepal. We built many temporary shelters and most of them made out of corrugated zinc sheets. Many houses have roof and mud walls and many without walls and some without roofs but everyone with cold floor. These shelters were made to survive the eminent monsoon but not harsh winters. However we believe that having a shelter than not having at all makes a huge difference but it does not apply to the newly borns and new mothers.
We have created this cause ‘Donation for new mothers’ with the intention to help offer bedding bundle to new mother and child warm blankets and insulated mattress. As the winter is right around the corner we are looking forward to start this projects as soon after collection of some funds. The bundle will have one pillow, one insulated mattress, one blanket, one pillow cover, one mattress cover and one blanket cover. Along with the bedding we will include a warm pair of Nepalese winter clothes and one jacket.
I am shaurab lohani and I am a graduate form University of Dc. I along with my friends of our organization Pailo Paila have raise around $30,000 from gofundme immediately after earthquake and supported over 5500 people with immediate relief and 200+ houses. Here we are again with a different yet very important cause at times when Nepal and earthquake victims are out of Spotlight!
