Help us Save Kylo's Eyes

Two days before Christmas, we found out that Kylo - our 8-month old husky puppy - was diagnosed with rapid cataracts disease and was going blind. A few days ago we rushed Kylo to an emergency vet for one of his eyes. He had poked his left eye while playing with my fiancé and it was then that we noticed his left pupil was out of the norm. Almost $400 dollars and a hour later, we left with eye drops and a referral to see a opthamologist in Columbus.
2 days later we took Kylo to the eye specialist to find out he has cataracts in both eyes - the left eye is rapid forming and the right eye is forming at a slower rate. This was a case of when you go to the doctors for one problem and find more problems. The doctor gave us a few options.
Option 1 would be to let Ky live how he is and let his eyes go blind. He would most likely get glaucoma or a detached retina which would result in permanate total blindness.
Option 2 is to perform surgery that would save his vision. The surgery has a 90% success rate of him seeing for the rest of his life. We scheduled a check-up appointment for him in 3 months since his left eye has progressed rapidly within the last 3 days. His vision in his left eye is expected to get worse by the time we go in for his checkup. Since Ky already has cataracts right now it is a matter of time before he will have glaucoma or a detached retina and we will not be able to get his eyes fixed.

We are racing against time to have the surgery done before either of those happen and he becomes permanently blind.
Learning that our 8-month old puppy is losing his eyesight and will be most likely be completely blind within the next year has been heartbreaking for us. After some thought it seemed like the best way to help Ky would be to preform surgery to save his vision.
The funds from this GoFundMe would go towards Ky's surgery for both eyes. Because the surgery is so expensive we were not confident we would be able to raise the funds by the time of his next appointment. Normally we wouldn't even consider asking but after almost $1,000 in emergency expenses from the last 3 days we don't have the money right now. We've had several friends who have recommended us to GoFundMe and mentioned how it is the best way to raise awareness and funds for Ky. Our hope is to raise/save enough money to cover at least half of the expense of this surgery and give our little furbaby a second chance. I know and understand that dogs can be blind and happy too but I can't help but want to try to save my sweet baby’s eyes. I've given to causes like these and I always share when I see one come my way. SURGERY DETAILS:
For one eye to be replaced: (his left since it is worse) $3,200
For both eyes to be replaced: $4,800

It is less expensive to do both eyes at the same time which is what Kylo needs & the vet recommended because you are only paying once for the anesthesia & prep for the surgery.

This would be a 2 day procedure and would happen on a Thursday. Wednesday will be checkup for Kylo in preparation for surgery. They check his vitals and make sure his body is in healthy condition for the day.
Thursday is surgery day. He will/should be able to come home with us the same day. He will live the cone life for several weeks and be restricted to very minimal play time.

This campaign doesn't include the cost of the 4 different types of eye drops he will have throughout the healing time. It doesn't include any taxes, or medication pricing. It is set at $5,000 to help even out what GFM will be taking out, to possibly cover any of the extra charges mentioned above.
