Old Glory - Frying Pan Tower

Donation protected
The #FryingPanTower is a privately owned, retired Coast Guard Light Station located 34 miles off the coast of North Carolina featuring a flag that a large social media following dubbed #Kevin and that was destroyed during #HurricaneFlorence.

Flag and Banner has donated a replacement U.S. flag to Frying Pan Tower's owner, Richard Neal.  Per the Charlotte Observer, "he plans to donate the tattered flag that made it through the storm to Cystic Fibrosis Wilmington or the American Red Cross of Wilmington for a fundraiser, after all the attention it got through Hurricane Florence."

While there has definitely been some controversy over Old Glory being out in the elements during the hurricane, Neal told the Charlotte Observer that "even if it was against flag protocol, that flag represents who we are as America. We get beat up, battered during hard times, but we stay up, stay at it through the storm."

This GoFundMe page will support the owner, Neal, in restoring the Frying Pan Tower in the wake of the Hurricane Florence.

Sponsored and managed by STA-BIL® Brand Fuel Stabilizer and HEET®.  These brands will match dollar for dollar up to $5,000 and donate those funds to American Red Cross.
