HELP SAVE JOHNNY'S HOME las Cruces

Johnny Florez, 86, is known in the Las Cruces community. A street musician who performs during the downtown farmer's market on Saturday mornings, he is accompanied by drummer and vocalist, Isabel Aguirre. In 2014, the mayor commemorated a "Johnny Florez Day." Johnny is a local icon and represents the heart of the community.
The community has responded and Johnny is no longer in danger of becoming homeless. However, the need is strong to save Johnny's house. He needs home improvements. Presently, he lives in the home with no gas or water. The house needs roof and floor replacement, as well as, electrical and plumbing work.
We are seeking community involvement to come to Johnny Florez's needs, including construction workers willing to volunteer their services that can help drive down the cost of home improvement.
