Please Help Mom Keep Her Home

Hello to all and hope you had a peaceful and happy Thanksgiving with friends and family!
This is Deanna writing on behalf of my Mom, Janet. As you all may be experiencing yourselves, or perhaps as you've heard from various friends and family, financial times have been very tough for the ever-dwindling hard-working people of the Middle Class. My Mother has worked hard as an Educator her entire life. At 74 years old, she has had to come out of retirement to care for a lovely 94 year-old woman with Alzheimer's. She has also returned to work at the school that employed her for over 30 years. She works lunch duties, performs substitute teaching for all elementary ages and any never says no to any other odd job that they may offer her.
Despite financial help from myself (I help as much as I can by paying her mortgage), the property taxes on her home are no longer affordable for her, and they have become an enormous strain on her physical and emotional health.
Sadly, despite us being hard working people who earn, it simply is not enough.
My Mother will lose her home to 'snakes in the grass' who buy back taxes for profit and charge large amounts of interest on it. It's a disgusting practice, but there's no mercy for people who cannot pay taxes on property in this town.
Bergen County, NJ has become increasingly unaffordable for the Middle Class - that is, if the Middle Class still exists. Fortunately, she has her home up for sale, and has had interest in it, and even a good offer, that will help to resolve financial issues. Unfortunately, the buyers canceled the contract, only to leave the house back on the market and in search of a new buyer. As you know, this process takes time and with the Winter coming, fewer and fewer people have shown interest. Hopefully, by Spring, she will receive a decent offer, get to closing, and be able to resolve her financial burden and move on with her life.
It's not fair that a Grandmother and Mother who has done so much for so many people should be dealing with such enormous financial strain. These are supposed to be years when she can enjoy her life and relax. Instead, she works and stresses. It's unfair and unjust and I worry about her health. She needs to pay these back taxes by Dec 3rd or else they make the humiliating practice of listing her name and property in the newspaper. On that date, anyone can come and buy the taxes which will ultimately lead to foreclosure.
She would kill me if she knew I was doing this. She is proud. If you know my Mother, she is also an Angel on Earth. She is a Giver. She never asks anyone for anything and will not ask anyone for money when she is in need, despite her always helping everyone else. She is a loving, kind, generous and rare human being. The best kind of human being. She does not deserve the financial burden and the emotional toll it has taken on her. She is suffering because of this and needs your help as soon as possible.
