Save the Cadillac!

Ever since I was a little kid, I've loved Cadillacs. With their ostentatious styling, in your face gangster attitude, powerful V8 engines, I was smitten. A year ago, after battling addiction and becoming sober, my lifelong dream of owning a big old Cadillac came true. I purchased a 2004 DeVille Talisman edition with a gold hood ornament and only 55k miles on it! Since then I've taken it on several road trips and written about it on noted car blog Oppositelock, where it became the unofficial mascot of the 2015 Northeast Oppositelock meet up. It's more than just a car, it's a loyal friend and sort of my signature. It's my most prized possession. I hand wash it every time, and have treasured my gold Cadillac. However, the other day on my way to class, the car's CV joint broke, and my family wants me to get rid of my "unreliable old car", more or less forcing me into leasing a new car that I will never be able to make my own or take on adventures, due to mileage restrictions and lease agreements. They want me to sell my Cadillac to cover a year of the lease payments. As they are providing a roof over my head and helped me with other parts of getting my life on track, I am not in a position to say no. However, they said if I can come up with the first year of lease payments, they'll let me keep my beloved Cadillac. So I am reaching out to you, help me save my Cadillac!
