Treatment for Rebecca

Our 24 year old beloved daughter and sister, Rebecca, is fighting for her life. She has been battling an eating disorder and alcoholism for almost 10 years. These diseases have caused her to go in and out of the ICU, eating disorder and alcohol related treatment facilities, and outpatient therapy several times over the years. However, Rebecca has never managed to make a full recovery.
At Thanksgiving 2015, once again it was clear to everyone in Rebecca’s life that she needed immediate help. She decided it was the right time for her to stand up and fight for herself. This time it was going to be different. Rebecca realized that she needed to take back her life from the diseases that have controlled her. Her doctor diagnosed her with cirrhosis of the liver from alcoholism, and made it clear that one more drink would kill her. Rebecca has made great progress with her alcoholism, although the damage done to her body will not disappear overnight. However, she still needs help fighting her bulimia. Weighing only 65 pounds, she cannot wait any longer. Rebecca has a desire to live, and the will to beat this!
Recently, Rebecca was admitted into a treatment facility locally, and it seemed like everyone’s prayers were beginning to be answered. Unfortunately, now we have been told that our insurance will not pay for the residential treatments of her eating disorder. This is why we need to reach out for help. We are in the process of appealing the decision of the insurance company, but, with her life on the line, Rebecca cannot wait! Her first two week stay (a minimum treatment time) will cost $14,000.00, and each additional day will be $1,050.00. There are also numerous additional medical costs due to ten years of battling with these diseases.
It is hard to believe that someone who is so ill cannot receive treatment, but that is the case. Please help Rebecca in any way that you can, even if it is simply passing along our plea to others who can help!
