SAVE THE GRAND FORKS BMX TRACK!
On May 10, 2018 the City of Grand Forks was devastated by flooding including the Grand Forks BMX Track. Many businesses and families lost everything, but the community has shown tremendous strength during this time and are truly one-of-a-kind.
Not long ago the Grand Forks BMX track and moto shed were completely under water leaving behind damaged equipment and a track requiring extensive repair to become rideable again for the many kids and families who consider this their home away from home.
The BMX family is tight-knit and extends far beyond Grand Forks. Riders of all ages share an undeniable bond and there has been much disappointment with each passing Wednesday as our kids wait for the track to be fixed so they can get back out on their bikes.
Many families have been travelling out of town to other tracks, who have welcomed them with open arms, until we can get rubber side up again.
A plan has been set in motion to get the track ready in time for our annual Provincial Championship Race series (PCR) weekend on July 20-22, 2018, a highly anticipated event in the BMX community that attracts riders from all over the province, the Country, and south of the border to Grand Forks and area. We are resilient and know we can make it happen with your support.
This campaign has been organized by the Grand Forks BMX Board of Directors as we work hard behind the scenes to save the 2018 season – and as we move forward towards the future of BMX racing in Grand Forks!
