The Legacy Of CFB Chilliwack
The CFB Chilliwack Historical Society needs immediate help and support.
Since the closer of the Chilliwack Forces Base in '97, the CFBCHS has been home to over 30,000 military artifacts, documents and memorials. For over 20 years these dedicated men and women have given so much of their time and efforts educating us on the rich military history of Chilliwack. Some of their contributions to our community include: displays at our Canada Day celebrations, Canada Remembers in November - where they invite schools to be educated through interactive activities, and stories by those who have served our country. Each year the members put together Christmas hampers and gifts to our less fortunate veteran families.
The building where they currently rent has been sold and the society has to relocate their entire museum by the end of November. They need funds for: a new location, to cover moving expenses, create new signage, as well as updating their marketing material. They are a non-for profit organization that depends on donations and government grants. Every dollar that you donate goes directly to helping support the museum to save our military heritage. Let us join together and give back to them in their time of need.
