Save the California Condor Trail

The Wilderness Land Trust is currently working to protect the California Condor/High Mountain/Trout Creek Trail and we need your help. The trail provides public access into the Santa Lucia and Garcia Wilderness, home to deer, bear, Perigrine Falcon, Horned Toad and other wildlife.


“We work very hard to keep this trail open,” says Kathleen Phelps, volunteer with the Los Padres Forest Association. “If The Wilderness Land Trust doesn’t purchase the property that surrounds the trail, the trail could be closed and the surrounding land developed, threating the wildlife that calls this area home.
 
We are thankful to the San Luis Obispo Park and Open Space Foundation, the Backcountry Horseman’s Association, the Pacific Coast Long Riders, the Atascadero Horseman’s Association and others for giving us a solid head start by contributing to this acquisition.
