Sheffield Hallam Scuba Diving Society allows students to see and experience the serene world which so many never get the opportunity to do.
For many in our club, the weekly dives are a massive alleviation from the stress and worry of life, focusing on something else for a little while and let the fears float away. Often they are an chance to socialise and do something amazing that is just too expensive without the support of university funding.
We are hoping to raise funds so we can continue to do what we love and help others to take part in new and wonderful things.
Sadly, without the funding, we shall be unable to run the society for another year and, if this is the case, many of us will loose the freedom and stress-relief that comes with diving.
Only a little goes so far! Please help us to reach our goal of £3000 and help us to keep the door open, giving stressed and anxious students the opportunity to let go and see something amazing and make hundreds of unforgettable memories.
Update: we don't want this to just be about us!
We've decided that a third of all funds we raise over this year will be donated to the Marine Conservation Society, the leading charity that work to save the oceans from pollution, keep them healthy and return them to their natural state.
