Suffering from Pancreatitis

Rocky is a miniature Schnauzer. He woke up on Sunday morning vomiting. We thought it was the flu. So we made sure he had plenty of water and switched his diet to chicken and rice. By Wednesday he seemed to be rebounding, playful and barking at other dogs through the window wanting to play.
Thursday morning I woke up to around 5 piles where Rocky got sick through the night. Rocky had no energy and he had lost weight over the week. We said it was time to take him to the vet.
he has been diagnosed with pancreatitis and DKA. The vet told us he needed 24 hour care which they don't provide. They told us not to use the local clinic because the last referral with the similar situation didn't make it. So they refered us to the Saskatoon Western College of Veteranarian Medicin. A 2.5 hour drive from Regina.
we are now facing up to a $4000 bill with a 60% chance that he can make it. I recently went on long term disability from suffering from a medical problems for the last several years.
we love our dog, but I am short on funds needed to save his life. I need some help.
