Here's what dog lover, dog trainer, and dog mama extraordinnaire Renee Whitby said on Christmas Day: "What do you do when you have a 'few' dogs at Christmas, lol? Well, you buy 2 HUGE stockings and fill them with toys, toys, toys and more toys! Then, you take out a loan! LMAO."
Two weeks later, Renee was driving in her pick-up on a snowy road in Pennsylvania, lost control on a curve, wrecked, and lost her life.
She leaves behind a house full of beautiful fur babies, many she had rescued from bad situations. Now, her family and friends need to continue taking care of these great kids. They need food, shelter, and meds. And lots and lots of love that Renee gave them. Help us help Rhonda and that amazing house of love and fur!
My name is Gigi Marino, a friend and fan of Renee. It is not an exaggeration to say that she changed our lives not only with her excellent dog-training skills but also with her warmth, compassion, and humor. I know we are not alone in feeling this way and feeling devastated by her sudden and tragic end. As many of you know, she left behind 20 dogs and did not have a plan in place for their continued care, so I started this fund to raise money for her animals. I am meeting Renee's partner and family this weekend at the memorial service and will sign over access to all of the funds raised in this campaign. I met Renee in Pennsylvania when we lived there. We have since relocated to Florida (but still sent our dogs to her!). Like so many of us who knew and loved Renee, I feel helpless in the face of her loss, particularly being so far away, but hope this fund will help keep Renee's vision and passion alive for a very long time.
