Save Our Neighbourhood

The Development Team at the Oak Bay United Church wants a precedent-setting rewrite of local zoning laws. If successful, they will change the nature of their quiet neighbourhood forever.

With a war chest of $800,000+ of taxpayers’ money, along with developer and political muscle, this team have put together a slick application that was filed with the District of Oak Bay on August 13, 2018. The District, for unknown reasons, is refusing to make the application public.

The Concerned Citizens Network of Oak Bay is a group of neighbours who support affordable housing. However we object to the size and density of the proposed project.  The building is too big, the apartments are too small, current infrastructure cannot support it, and traffic and parking problems are guaranteed it it goes ahead.

Today it is our neighbourhood. Tomorrow it may be yours.

The CCN-OB members have spent thousands of dollars personally. Costs include Freedom of Information requests, signs, printing, social media costs,  and other investigative charges. Find out more at: www.ccn-oakbay.com

Your funds will assist us in continuing our campaign to keep the developers honest (their submissions contains many inaccuracies) and to fight for a reasonable solution.

This development will impact you. Get involved today.

If successful, it can and will set a precedent. Make our local government listen to all stakeholders, not just the best-funded and loudest ones.

Your support is essential.  In addition to financial help, please:
