Save Motley

My name is Lisa.  My husband and I were looking to adopt a puppy.  We stumbled across LongWayHome Rescue out of Bryan and was very taken by one little pup on their site named Motley (short for Motley Crue).  Motley was a member of a whole little that had been abandoned and needed homes.  We made an appointment to go and see them, and as little fat puppies tend to do, he ran right into the house and into my husband's lap and that's where he stayed.  His brother, BonJovi (now affectionately know as Tugger) came over to me and curled up in my lap, and thats how we adopted brothers.  They have never been apart.  They worked hard swapping from one lap to the other to make sure we both knew we were equally loved by both pups!  My husband was disabled and had to mostly stay at the house.  I worked quite a bit, so the dogs where his companions.  They kept him company and gave him hours and hours of entertainment!  We lost my husband unexpectedly in October.  It was a very rough time for us all.  Then a few months later, I lost my job.  We are struggling to make ends meet, but the utilities are paid and there's food enough for all......until now.  The last few days Motley hasn't quite been himself.....no energy, no appetite, unable to keep what little water he drank down.  I took him to the vet today.  He has a blockage in his intestines and needs surgery if he is going to survive.  The surgery alone is $1700 that I do not have, and thats without adding in the care he is receiving now and whatever aftercare will be needed.  Tugger is still staring out the window wondering why Motley and I both left, and only I came back.  It may be silly to so many, but these dogs are my life.  They make me happy and keep me sane.  They've never been apart from each other, and with the exception of a few very unforntunate weeks at the beginning of their young life, they've never been without me.....and I simply can't imagine my life without them both.  Motley has a heart that is as huge as Texas!  He has so much love to still give and deserves all of the love he has coming!  The doctor's have him scheduled tentively for surgery on Wednesday, March 29......pending money being paid.  Please help me save this precious life!  He had to struggle so hard as just a baby through absolutely no fault of his own, and know he needs help.  I need help.......Please help us!  I don't know how to put into words what it would mean to me, but for him, it would mean a lifetime!
