Adult Hub, 'Limitless - Adult Hub', is a Community Interest Company (CIC,) based in Whitton, catering for young adults aged 18+ years old with mild to moderate disabilities - learning, physical and/or other health conditions.
'Limitless' primary aim is to improve the quality of life of young adults by supporting self-development (social, communication and daily life skills) promoting inclusion and empowering them to become more independent.
After a year of running successfully a weekly social hub,
our funding has been reduced, which is why we need your help.
Members have access to a wonderful venue which is a fully equipped:
* Fitness Gym - qualified gym instructor
* Kitchen - cooking classes each week where we teach the basics of cooking so our members can have the confidence, knowledge and desire to cook their own healthy meals at home. ie. spaghetti bolognese, salads, smoothies
* Games room - xbox, play station competitions
* IT Suite - 10 mac computers - A big subject that we support is being safe on social media
We organise
* Competitions - dancing, bake offs, graffiti
* Workshops - preparing for employment, safeguarding themselves, drug and alcohol issues, sexual health, personal relationships, personal hygiene, managing finances, emphasising on subjects that people with mental and learning difficulties or with a physical disability find difficult to understand or deal with.
* Day trips
* Social outings
Our members have told us how much they enjoy attending and participating in the activities we put on.
They particularly like that they can express themselves, talking about their concerns/circumsntances and, by giving them advice and support, they find solutions, become more confident and prepared to face life in the community.
Their parents and carers have also noticed a difference in their loved ones since joining Limitless, stating there is nothing like this for them in the community and that they wouldn’t know where to go to or how to manage without our services.
We are not just an average social group. We are a vital community based organisation, without which many of our clients and carers would find themselves unable to participate in society and live to their full potential.
The lives of some of our young members can be hard and often they face problems at school, college, home and relationships with friends and family. We provide a safe place for them to come and see friends, have some fun and get support in many aspects of their lives.
Thanks to Limitless, they have started to create happy memories for themselves knowing that they are not alone whilst our organised activities help them to further develop and become independent.
We work in a relaxed, friendly way, with professional staff, making sure everyone has adequate support, progresses and has fun.
We need £5,200.- to cover the costs for the next 6 months: the cost of the venue and activities.
Help us to help our young adults, so in turn, they can help themselves: become more independent and happier people.
All the funds received will go to 'Limitless Adult Hub' exclusively.
