SAVE Freestone County's 1881 JAIL

Donation protected
In 1966, the founders had a dream to preserve Freestone County history and raised $7,600 in about two weeks to purchase the old 1881 jail. The communities of Freestone County all rallied together to make their dream a reality.
The old jail is now in great need of restoration. Our goal is to match what the founders did for the museum in 1966 and to restore the old jail to its original glory. In modern times the equivalent amount raised in 1966 would be over $50,000.
What better way to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the museum than to donate $1 for each of the 50 years of service. These funds will assist with the 1881 Jail Restoration Project.
Can you give $50 or more to save the jail? If all the citizens in Freestone County rallied again as they did in 1966, we would have the funds to give the restoration project a good kick start. If you can give a lesser amount it is still greatly appreciated.
Every $1 counts.
Feel free to download our membership form from the website and mail in your donation if you prefer to do a check.  If you have any questions please call during museum hours: Wed, Fri, and Sat (10am - 5pm).

Thank you for your support!
