SAVE DELILAH AND TOMI FROM LIFE IN HELL
URGENT! FLIGHT IS MAY 20!!!
Delilah is a 5-month old pup who was living with her mom and siblings in the basement of an abandoned building outside of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Every day her mom would crawl out through a broken window to go hunt for food. Until one day someone intentionally boarded up the window, trapping Delilah and her family inside. Fortunately, a good Samaritan found them, and they were brought to the Gladno Polje Municipal Shelter.
Tomi's mother was tossed out by her owner after she made the "mistake" of getting pregnant, so Tomi and his siblings were born on the streets of Sarajevo right at the beginning of the brutal Bosnian winter. He and his family were brought to the shelter when Tomi was less than two months old. They have been there ever since.
Neither Tomi nor Delilah have any chance for adoption in Sarajevo. The municipal shelter doesn't even have running water or electricity. The situation is unimaginably horrific. Fortunately, both pups now have the chance of a lifetime: a flight partner has offered to bring them to Washington, DC; and the Great Lakes Humane Society in Traverse City, MI, has offered to rehome them. A network of volunteers arranged by Travel 2 the Rescue will drive them the whole way. Someone has even donated one travel crate. But we still have to cover the rest...
We can't let them miss what is undoubtedly their only chance to escape a lifetime at the shelter. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!
